The hockey game requires a lot of running under the sun with concentration. The game demands constant practice and energy. The primary purpose of taking a hockey drink is to avoid getting dehydrated. Physical activity in the sun would lead to tremendous sweating, followed by loss of water and salts. Moreover, if the loss of water increases from the intake, then it may cause dehydration. The primary cure for dehydration is drinking more fluids. After the match, the sugar cravings would be high because of sweating, but that would highly increase the sugar levels. So, after the game drinking, a lot of water is necessary, and if sugar cravings continue, then they could be satisfied with coconut water. The coconut water is sweet enough to calm the need and watery enough not to increase the sugar levels.
Thus, the choice of hockey drinks depends on the type of practice or game a player is playing. Hockey requires a lot of energy, and so drinking and eating nutritional food overnight would not help in building body strength. The body strength is a treasure, and that could only be achieved by proper choice of food and hockey drink.
